2-4-6-8, WHO DO WE APPRECIATE?

NOVEMBER 9

Who’s ready for some college football this weekend? I’m a UT Longhorn myself, but I know tomorrow is a huge game for a lot of our distillery folks – the University of Kansas vs Kansas State! The winner of this intrastate rivalry takes home the Governor’s Cup, which has been awarded every year since 1969. K-State leads the series 30-19-1 and hasn’t lost the trophy at all since 2008.

As long as we’re talking about K-State, I wanted to tell you a great story that Wyatt shared with me. Wyatt first reached out to the university’s head of food and beverage way back in January, wanting to talk about stadium placements. She wasn’t too interested at that time, because they book out months in advance and they were pretty well set for 2018.

But he kept checking in with her and finally got a 30-minute meeting, which turned into two hours. She fell so in love with Five Farms that she ended up bringing it in for the K-State vs Oklahoma State game just four days later.

She brought in four cases, planning to use it for both the private suites that buy bottles to stock their own bars and for the cash bar. She set up a tasting for the suites two hours before game time and promptly sold out of all four cases before the game even started. Suite owners were taking 2-3 bottles back to their suites, leaving no product available for the cash bar. Wyatt’s contact said Five Farms was one of the best new products they’ve seen come through in her history at Kansas State.

This is a great relationship that may lead to other opportunities (for Five Farms as well as potentially a few of our other brands) during the men’s and women’s basketball seasons. Congratulations, Wyatt! What a great example of being persistent and making big things happen.

Stores in the area where Five Farms is available include The Fridge in Manhattan and Z’s Liquor Mart in Great Bend, Kansas (hometown of our very own Wyatt Bayless). After that Oklahoma State game a couple of weeks ago, one of the suite owners went right into Z’s and picked up an entire case!
